In­fringe­ment Analysis

In ad­di­tion to the find­ing that your patent claim is ac­tu­al­ly used in a de­vice, the im­por­tance of the de­scribed func­tion in the im­ple­men­ta­tion de­ter­mines the achiev­able patent yield or com­pen­sa­tion and ac­cord­ing­ly de­fines the pro­ce­dure. This means a clear fo­cus of patent in­fringe­ment analy­sis on key technologies.

Stan­dards

In­dus­try stan­dards and im­ple­men­ta­tion sug­ges­tions pro­vide a good start­ing point for as­sess­ing patent infringement.

We of­fer de­tailed ex­pe­ri­ence with stan­dards in video and au­dio cod­ing (e.g. MPEG etc.), broad­cast tech­nol­o­gy (e.g. DVB, ATSC etc.), mo­bile com­mu­ni­ca­tions (e.g. 3G / 4G / 5G, BT, WiFi etc.), as well as en­cryp­tion and se­cu­ri­ty (e.g. CI +, HDCP etc.).

Once the rel­e­vant find­ings have been com­piled from the stan­dards, we as­sess the tech­ni­cal rel­e­vance and the com­mer­cial im­ple­men­ta­tion in com­mer­cial ap­pli­ca­tions for you.

An in­fringe­ment proof “in” a stan­dard does not nec­es­sar­i­ly mean a patent in­fringe­ment in a de­vice im­ple­ment­ing the stan­dard. TIPAG shows you whether parts of the stan­dard are used in the de­vice or not.

User-In­ter­face

The user in­ter­face is an es­sen­tial part of the suc­cess of your prod­ucts in the mar­ket. A pleas­ant, flaw­less ap­pear­ance and func­tion­ing of the graph­i­cal user in­ter­face (GUI) is a must.

We an­a­lyze ap­pli­ca­tions of your pro­tect­ed ideas and im­ple­men­ta­tions in terms of func­tion, arrange­ment, syn­chro­niza­tion etc. in all types of hu­man-ma­chine interfaces.

An­i­mat­ed tran­si­tions, de­pen­den­cies and de­sign of user in­ter­faces are test­ed and doc­u­ment­ed by us.

Soft­ware

Fre­quent­ly, in­ven­tions are im­ple­ment­ed into soft­ware. For us, this means get­ting into ex­ist­ing sys­tems to gain ac­cess to the rel­e­vant code in or­der to ex­tract or prove it. Again, we have many tools and strate­gies to re­li­ably prove your in­tel­lec­tu­al property.

We analyse source code, ma­nip­u­late data at in­ter­faces and / or with­in the sys­tem of a run­ning de­vice. We ex­tract tem­po­rary data and record sig­nals at ac­ces­si­ble in­ter­faces (e.g., WiFi, BT, USB). By us­ing specif­i­cal­ly mod­i­fied test sig­nals, we gen­er­ate stress tests and force the de­vices to per­form cer­tain func­tions that we need to prove patent infringement.

For our analy­ses, we most­ly rely on the most up-to-date and pub­licly avail­able Lin­ux and An­droid ap­pli­ca­tions and adapt them to the sit­u­a­tion as needed.

IC-Analy­sis

In­te­grat­ed cir­cuits of­ten in­clude thou­sands of func­tions and el­e­ments. Are you look­ing for a spe­cif­ic el­e­ment with­in a com­plex in­te­grat­ed cir­cuit? We help you to open the IC’s and prove the rel­e­vant el­e­ments for you.

We pro­vide the know-how to ex­tract the in­te­grat­ed cir­cuits, to iso­late the struc­tures and to trace the schemat­ics for simulations.
